“My grandparents made us dress up for special days such as Treaty Day, Flower Day, Christmas and the first day of school.

I remember “being forced” to try on clothes at the Mcleod’s store in a nearby town. I refused to wear the same clothes as the siblings and cousins. But it was that or don’t get new clothes at all.

Well I wanted different clothes to wear.

Moshom worked hard to get us new clothes and he sold pickets, scrap metal and wheat to buy us clothing.”
